What Are My Job Opportunities In Finishing Bachelor Of Fine Arts Major In Advertising?

hi! i’m planning to take Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Advertising for college. and here’s the case
Well art is my passion, but i know that you have to be really gifted like hell to be a picasso or michael angelo. and i want to have a comfortable and money problem-free life. so i chose advertising instead of painting, because i kinda have an idea that there are more job opportunities in advertising. the problem is i don’t know what these job opportunities are.
the university’s program :
“introduces basic and advance principles of design and drawing, with emphasis on the communicative aspect of the arts. The concentrtion is in the creative utilization of the print, television, radio, and other media in the pursuit of truth and responsible advertising.”

Fine arts and Advertising design is not the same. Advertising has more to do with selling an idea/ product/ servive in a creative way. You need to know who your market is, satisfy your client and try to have a good time at it. It’s not about you, as fine art is. I thought you should just be aware of this, because I went into Graphic Design for the same reason.
The good part is that the opportunities are quite large. Magazine, Collateral Design, Packaging, Advertising in different field etc. You can even end up doing Environmental Graphics, as it’s something that one of my teachers ended up doing professionally.
What is important is that are good and have a good business sense too, to get ahead.

I would think that there would be a broad range of things… Ad executive, magazine layout editor, visual merchandiser, graphic design, logo design, print executive, marketing company…
Go online to places such as Monster and Careerbuilder to see what things are available.
