The way I started my at home typing business was through word of mouth. You can go to Vista.com and get business cards (free cards – just pay for shipping). Every time I met someone new and was asked what I did, I said, “I have an office support business, providing general typing, reports, data entry, etc., basically anything that can be done in an office.” You have to feel comfortable “selling yourself” as a confident business woman who knows how to do virtually anything. [And be willing to learn very fast on your own how to meet your clients' needs]. Once you establish yourself as a ‘business’, join your local chamber and go to the events the chamber sponsors. Morning coffees, meetings; anything your time allows. Pass out those business cards at every opportunity. I didn’t rely on anyone else to provide work to me – I’ve yet to find a legit ‘stay-at-home’ business that didn’t want upfront money or wasn’t a pyramid scheme of some kind. My revenues went up every year, from 10,000 the first year to over $100,000, with my take-home after expenses between $65,000 and $70,000. The key thing to remember is, YOU are the business when you do ‘typing at home’. The quality you provide will determine your clients and your ability to retain them as clients.
You didn’t mention where your expertise lies (if you have specific experience in medical/law, etc.) If you want to work for someone else at home, check with medical transcription services. Call doctor’s offices and ask if they contract out their transcription. Call law offices (small ones especially) to see if they need back-up assistance. Enlist your friends – tell them what you’re planning and ask them to promote you. Good luck! There is good money to be made, but you do have to be willing to work for it. Also… don’t forget to do your homework. KNOW what the ‘going rate’ is for typing services and determine if you can do the job just as well for what they charge or even more.

    u can b a blogger.
Its different for different people. For me google adsense worked.
Try Google advertisements system.Be patient,be tactful and be sure of the cheques. These are the rules.
I never beleive the suryey system and the data entry works on net.I bliv in start earning without spending a single penny.
The way i earn is by putting ads by google on my website.
The websites and ads both are provided free by google.
The link that i will give u will explain how to open a google ad account free, and put ads on ur blogspot site.
The system is simple and genuine.Google takes money from the companies who want to give ads on internet(they are called advertisers)
Google will display the ads on webpages of the people who are registered with google for that(they are called publishers)
When any visitor clicks on anyone of the ads google give a good share of the ad revenue in our account and sends it thru a check when 100$ accumulate.
I m making anything between $200-$300 per month,by working 2hrs daily. If that is enough for u ,u should go for this system.
Everything depends on how much traffic u are getting on ur website.I get most of the traffic from forums like yahoo answers and others. Also if u update ur website with quality and original content, the google search engine catches it and then u get automatic traffic too.
for making a free blogspot site go to blogger.com
And to open a google publisher account, and to learn more, go to http://a-s-y-r-a-f.blogspot.com
i have other blogsites too like this http://angle-mine.blogspot.com (u can make as many as u want and post whatever u like)
    Goodluck.

Most of the “type at home” and “data entry jobs” you will find online are indeed scams and not what they seem. If you are truly looking to do typing/data entry from home, you may be better off doing a local search offline, through your newspaper classifieds or employment agencies. There are legitimate jobs and home businesses available online, just have not come across any that pertain to typing.

I know how hard it is to find a legitimate home business. I searched for over 3 years. I work with Work At Home United. I set up customer accounts for an International Wellness Company. I also partner with others who would like to do what I do to help them reach their financial goals and we get paid very well for it. I don’t have to sell anything, or inventory anything. I can truly work from home! Here is my website: http://www.WorkAtHomeMommy.Info Check it out, maybe this is what you are looking for. No Obligation! Have a great day! Arianna :-)

If you are not opposed to typesetting-type work or making resumes, or contract positions, you could visit http://www.craigslist.org (click on your area) and you can browse the work posted, or post your services/resume and let people come to you.

i think the best way to make money at home is by having your own website. once you have a website up and running you need an interesting idea or product, once you have this you need people frequently visiting your site, once you have people frequently visiting your site you need companies advertising on your site to make more money such as affiliates or pay per click advertisers. a great site that provides you with all the tools you need is at:

I don’t do typing but I do work from home….
I do Avon and Tupperware. Avon is great, but it does require lots of recruiting for customers and the books get kinda expensive since you have to buy the every 2 weeks. Start up is $10 and there is no minimum to sell.
Tupperware is AWESOME in my opinion. I earn an average of $1000 per month by holding 2 parties each week (about 5-6 hours per week). I could work more, but I have a 1 month old so that isn’t feesable right now. The start up fee is $69 or $99 for the big kit. You have to sell $300 every 4 months to stay a consultant (1 average party is around $400 in sales). I also like that they give you incentives (free product, cash, trips, car allowance!) Check out my website if you want more info.

I searched a year after I had my baby for a legitmate work at home site but they all wanted me to pay for a service or do something out of the ordinary. So I ended started an Avon business and after 2 years I make $250-300 every 2 weeks on a regular basis. This is extra income for me so its works out great. And I take care of everything while my 3 kids are at school. For only $10 I’m glad I took a chance
